I have fly fished with Dustan and Jake for almost 17 years. First met them in Montana. Have been fishing in northern Indiana and Michigan with them for steelhead for 13 years. Had a great early season trip with them. Hooked 13 fish over a day and a half. Only...see complete review

There is more than the return to glory of Notre Dame football to get excited about these days in South Bend, Indiana. In the shadow of the Golden Dome lies one of America’s best year-round fisheries and possibly America’s most productive Steelhead river. The Saint Joseph River can be found flowing not more than a mile from The House that Rockne Built and is possibly America’s best-kept fly-fishing secret. With almost year-round steelhead runs, both coho and king salmon, and smallmouth bass, how could it be overlooked by so many fly-fishermen? The conventional tackle fishermen have been fishing the river for years, but it hasn’t been until recently that the long rod has been found in any number along the course of the river as it flows toward Lake Michigan.
