Captain Paul Hobby has over 25 years of being a professional fishing guide in the Fort Myers and Sanibel Island area, which is located in southwest Florida. His specialty is fly fishing and super light tackle spinning gear. We typically fish in waters with a depth of 1 to 3 feet and the water is usually very clear. That makes this area prime for sight casting to fish. Redfish and Snook are usually available all year, while big Tarpon are typically roaming from spring to late summer. The boat that I fish from is a new 18 foot Maverick HPX. This is a very fly friendly boat and comfortable without being tippy as so many shallow draft boats are. We can fish just 4-5 hours or all day if you prefer. One or two Anglers is ideal, but we can accommodate up to three if desired.Been Fishing with Captain Paul Hobby Fishing Charters? - Share your Experience - Write a Review! Click Here!
About Your Captain
Sanibel Island and Fort Myers fishing charters and guide service covers all types of flats fishing from fly casting to 100 lb. tarpon to silently poling 8-inch deep water for redfish. Fishing the inshore waters of Pine Island Sound and the surrounding area can be extremely rewarding. This area encompasses Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. As your guide I, Captain Paul Hobby, have the knowledge and experience necessary as a Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva Island fishing guide for over 20 years, to make it happen. I am a full-time fishing guide in the Sanibel Island, Captiva Island and Fort Myers, Florida area. I SPECIALIZE in fly fishing inshore and near shore waters as well as using spinning/light tackle (conventional) fishing tackle. My typical Fort Myers – Sanibel Island fishing charter is 1 to 3 anglers fishing a 1/2, 3/4 or full day. All levels of fishing experience can be accommodated. This can range from a novice fisherman to someone experienced in sight casting to fish, or just wanting to gain some experience. This is a “have fun” no pressure type of fishing. Most serious anglers put enough pressure on themselves and do not need any added pressure from their guide. If you bring me a “fat-free” cupcake, I will never mention any blown cast or missed opportunities.
