Sportsmens Compass – The Who, Why, What, How
Who are we?
Sportmens Compass is a community of anglers; first and foremost. Our mission is to provide a place for you, and I to share information.
When sourcing information to find a guide or charter we want you to be able to find them here; with honest and unbiased reviews of their competence and service.
We want you to be able to find the right shop when you need equipment, especially when far from home. Don’t spend thousands on a lodge or outfitter without making sure you made the right choice.
And most importantly, we need you to SHARE your experience so others can benefit and learn from it.
Why Should You Care?
Because we can help each other avoid bad trips, bad experiences, and wasting our money.
This resource can’t exist without anglers like you adding to it, together we can create this search platform.
What Do We Do?
We provide anglers with a place to contribute reviews on guides/ charter/ lodges/shops and more.
We compile all the best news, videos, articles, stories and more in the fishing space, for you to keep up to date.
We help you find that next guide, provide tools to book that next trip, and find that new tackle shop. We can even help you contact them and get the information you’re looking for.
We do it so all of us can quickly access reliable information easily without spending hours staring at a computer.
Why Reviews Matter.
Reviews from fellow anglers are the most honest way to get information on a business in the fishing industry. If you can’t get a recommendation from a reliable friend, where would you turn for information?
We have created a community for peer to peer sharing of first hand information, keeping the B.S., lies, exaggeration and “sponsored endorsements” out of it.
We can’t do this without you.
Do Your Part.

Our Review Policy: No reviews will be accepted from facilities or service suppliers or any affiliate. We encourage our members to provide honest assessments of the quality and competence of service providers. (For example, weather and fishing conditions are beyond a lodge’s or guide’s control, but quality and competence in any environment can be measured.) We encourage our members to share travel and ancillary information that will help others get the most out of their adventures.
